CNN INTERVIEW, with Ms Gina

Ms. Gina Torjak discussed ISR with CNN. According to the CDC, drowning is the leading cause of injury deaths for kids ages 1-4. That's why we dedicate ourselves as an organization to teach kids as young as six months through six years.

Why do I teach ISR children's swim lessons?

2I chose to be an ISR instructor after my children completed the program.  Teaching now for 15 years in Atlanta, ISR and happy swimmers is my love!! My families are not just swimmers, they are my friends as we become a village.   As a mom of three active boys, water safety is our family’s first concern. While nothing can substitute adult supervision, ISR is an added layer of protection for my children. After living in South Florida for many years as a pool owner with young children, Infant Swimming Resource was the solution for us. When we moved to Georgia we needed a program that protected our kids year-round from even more!  The time near lakes, ponds & streams during the coldest seasons concerned us.  Having three kids outnumbered me too, and relying on lifeguards was not enough.  I wanted my child to know what to do himself, at all times in any type of water.
ISR has taught my boys to be aquatic problem solvers, not to mention that they love it too! I enrolled my baby Jude at 6 months in the program just after my 2.5 year old son finished.  I also know first hand what it's like to take a strong willed 3 year old to swim lessons. Then, watch him develop into a confident swimmer.  Grown up a bit, my boys all still have a deep love of swimming.   Even as teens, they practice their back float at the lake at the start of every season.

While I love my work, my most important job ever is raising three wonderful men whom are now 14,18 & 21. My husband & I have been happily married for 20 years. We reside & are active in our Dunwoody, GA community & church.  I have many professional references available, upon request and some of my favorite toddlers now pass me in the halls of middle & high schools around town!  My passion for this program is boundless and truly from a parent's perspective.  Empathizing with a nervous parent, and worried parent is what I do daily, I've got your back in this partnership.  I've actively held certification since 2008, 15 of years of ISR.    I'm doubly certified as a lifeguard and CPR/First Aid, and Autism Water certified instructor.
